🍸 Gin Cocktail
Negroni
Equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. Bitter, boozy, and completely unapologetic about it. If you've never liked a Negroni, you probably haven't had a properly cold one.
🧪 Ingredients
- 30ml gin (London dry style)
- 30ml Campari
- 30ml sweet vermouth (Cocchi Torino)
- 1 orange peel, to garnish
📋 Method
- Combine gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth in a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir for 20-30 seconds until well chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass over a single large ice cube.
- Express an orange peel over the top and drop it in.
Bartender's Notes
Equal parts is the classic ratio, but don't be afraid to nudge gin up slightly if Campari's bitterness overwhelms you at first. A good London dry gin with real juniper backbone stands up to the Campari better than a delicate, floral one.
