Privacy Policy

The Short Version
This site doesn't track you, sell your data, or run advertising. Most data stays in your own browser. The only time personal information leaves your device is when you choose to subscribe to the newsletter or send a contact message.
1. What Data is Collected
Browser storage (localStorage) — Reading progress, bookmarks, XP points, and theme preferences are saved locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to anyone, including me.
Newsletter subscription — If you choose to subscribe, your email address is sent to Mailchimp (our email provider). Their privacy policy applies: mailchimp.com/legal/privacy
Contact form — If you send a message via the contact form, your name, email, and message are sent to Formspree and forwarded to my personal email. They are not stored or shared beyond this. Formspree privacy policy: formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy
Server logs — Standard web hosting logs may record IP addresses and page visits. These are not linked to personal identity and are not analysed beyond basic uptime monitoring.
2. Third-Party Services
This site uses the following external services:
- Cloudinary — Image hosting and optimisation. Photos are served from their CDN.
- YouTube — Embedded videos. YouTube may set cookies when you play a video.
- Google Fonts — Fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which may log your IP.
- Mailchimp — Newsletter delivery. Only if you subscribe.
- Formspree — Contact form delivery. Only if you send a message.
3. Cookies
This site does not set tracking cookies. A consent preference cookie is stored locally to remember whether you have accepted or declined the privacy notice. YouTube embeds may set cookies when interacted with — you can prevent this by not playing videos.
4. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data held about you. In practice this means:
- To delete your browser data: clear localStorage in your browser settings
- To unsubscribe from the newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any email
- To request deletion of a contact message: email me at the address on the About page
